Sprained foot, swollen. How to dampen swelling?

at the moment its still red and quite swollen, i have need of to get it done as i've get things to do. it happened on saturday, i didnt bear a crutch should i have? its still difficult to totter on, hurts when pressure is applied.
what quite minister to it further? anything in the home?Sprained foot, swollen. How to dampen swelling?
seize an ice pack on it, that will appropriate the swelling down.
Use Duck Tape
RICE
rest
ice
compression
elevation
Ice it for a daytime or two, and then use a roast pack.
Sit down with your foot raise above your heart level and put rime on it. Don't walk on it unless you own to, but if you can walk on it, probability are its not broken, although you may have torn some ligaments. Try and find a tubi-grip (like a bandage sock) which will support your ankle and will parsimonious it hurts less when you do saunter on it. You should be ok without crutches, I find that unless your foot is so impossible you cant step on it, crutches just eliminate your arms aswell!
Put your foot up for 20 mins with a pod of frozen peas or anything else you've got thats frozen on your foot. Should lessen the swelling.
take some ibuprofen every 4-6 hours it will relief reduce your swelling. put the foot up and rest it. own you seen a doctor?
As Allen suggested, RICE is the best policy.
Maybe using crutches would be upright for a little while so you don't re-injure it. Borrow some or pick some up from a Walgreens, etc.
Take some Tylenol for the agony, and it should start feeling better surrounded by a few days.
